4 Months already!

Hayden has his 4 month check up about a week ago. He was so, so good and happy. Minus the shot part of course, that was very, very sad. He calmed right down after I picked him up but then laying him back down to get his pants on he was a mess! He knows what happens on that table now and he was not gonna have it again! I love Hayden's doctor (Dr. Nye), he always answers my questions and concerns I have and Hayden really likes him too. Here are Hayden's stats :)

Weight: 15 lbs 11 oz - 75%
Length: 25 inches - 63%
Head: 16.5 inches - 47 %

I can't believe how big he is getting! He is so strong and thinks he is so grown up. He has to be facing out all the time so he feels involved with everything. He wants to be part of the conversation and has found his voice. I love all the little noises he makes; he can carry on quite the conversation. We get really loud laughs now, they are so cute. He is pretty ticklish. AND... He rolled over yesterday, from tummy to back on his right side!!! I was so excited. And then he rolled over today the other way! He is a rolling machine. I can't believe he will be getting around and getting into EVERYTHING soon! I love this little guy! I am so lucky to be his mom. I love you my handsome boy!

Today's Autism Fact:
I stole this from the
Oklahoma Autism Network - The earliest signs of autism are the absence of behaviors that are typically seen in the first year of life and can be easy to miss such as an infant who does not respond to a parent's smile or does not respond as often as other infants. Later signs of autism are the presence of behaviors that are not typical and can include things such as rocking, spinning or unusual use of vision or gaze. These later signs are more observable when the child is around 18-24 months of age or older.
The sometimes subtle symptoms of high functioning autism and Aspergers may not be diagnosed until much later and are often originally diagnosed as ADD/ADHD (Attention Deficit Disorder), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), or Anxiety disorder (usually a combination of these).

Happy Birthday Best Friend!

"Having a sister is like having a best friend you can't get rid of. You know whatever you do, they'll still be there." Amy Li

I just want to wish my little sister Mandi a HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I love her so much. I can't believe she is 20 years old.

Mandi you are such an amazing woman. You are so beautiful, smart and talented. I am so proud of you. You are such a geat example to me and you are my best friend. I love you! I hope you had a fabulous day! I can't wait to see you this weekend. Love you sis!

A sister is a little bit of childhood that can never be lost. ~Marion C. Garretty

Today's Austism Fact:
According to the CDC, there is
no link between autism and vaccines. In fact, it was recently proven that the doctor who first made the connection faked his results. Yet, some mothers whose children showed symptoms of autism shortly after vaccination remain convinced that the vaccine caused the disorder. As a mom not of a little boy (especially since autism is more prevalent in boys. For boys it is 1 in every 94) I was also worried about the risks of vaccines. It is a super controversial issue right now. But after all my research, talking to lots of people and working with the kids in California, I chose to get Hayden vaccinated. I respect everyone’s opinion; you gotta do what’s right for you and your family. I would love to hear your views on the subject. (Click the highlighted words for more info if you’re interested)

aaaannnddd we're back

I say day after day, "I'll blog tomorrow," or "I'll blog as soon as Hayden goes down for a nap again." But days and days go by and I still don't blog, even though I have tons to blog about. I have just been so busy! Hayden is getting so big and fun. He cracks me up; he has the funniest little personality. But right now it's 11:40 PM! PM people! This is way past my bedtime... how pathetic right? I’m so old... I am so tired. All. The. Time. I don't know what the deal is, no matter how much or how often I sleep I am always pooped. But I took this opportunity to blog while I’m waiting for Hayden’s laundry. I swear we went through 20 burp clothes just today! I do so much laundry these days….
Sooooo... Since it is past my bedtime this will be a quick post of a few things that have been going on, and things to come later... so stay tuned because there will be lots of fun posts the next few days.....

Date Night!!

I have the sweetest husband. Cory and I went out on a double date with our really good friends Taylor and Laurin. Thanks so, so much to my mom who watched Hayden so we could go to a dinner AND a MOVIE! She even bathed him and got him to bed. It was so nice to get out. Thanks mom! Love you. We had so much fun with our friends; I haven't laughed that hard in a long, long time. We met up at The Gateway and ate at The Counter. It was seriously THE BEST burger I have ever had, EVER! You build your own burger... you pick the meat, the cheese, the toppings, the sides, the sauces... E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G. It’s pretty fabulous. Everyone needs to check it out! I’ll go with ya ;)

After dinner we saw Monsters -vs-Aliens in 3D! It was such a cute movie and was so, so funny. I loved it. If your in the mood for a movie, that would be a fun one to see :)

These are the gorgeous flowers Cory got me before our date. He surprised me and came home to grab some lunch and brought these with him…

Awww so sweet right? Love you Cor! Sorry to be so sappy…. Carrying on now…

Game Night!!!

Games have been a big deal at our house recently... Card games, outside games, board games... whatever... its really fun. This night we were playing Phase 10 and Hayd got in on the action on Uncle Trav's team!

"What? Don't look at our cards!"

"Hmmmm...What to do.."

"Play this one!"

Hayden has been grabbing everything and ANYTHING he can and then puts it straight into his mouth. He randomly grabs grandma's arm and shoved it in his mouth and started sucking away... Right now his favorite is his thumb and fingers

Our Growing Little Guy

Hayden will be 4 months in about a week! Its so weird how fast it has all gone. I love being his mom.

Ok... so how freaking cute are these pj's? He has dragon feet :)

Blue Eyes(I wish you could really see in this picture how blue they are.... I'm not a very good photographer...)

First day outside! YAY for nice Spring weather!

Our new toy from the Easter Bunny. Hayden LOVES it! There are cute fish for him to grab and a ball that he can kick. Everything makes noise and he has so much fun. He played so hard he fell right to sleep :)

He also LOVES his Bumbo... I think it makes him feel big like everyone else. He loves seeing what everyone else is doing and being a part of the action

Ok, Uncle Trav... These are just for you. Close ups of the "sweet" outfit you got him :) If only he had some Velor sweats. ha ha ha

Posts To Come:
-Obsessions -Croquet and Badminton -The Taboo!!! -4 month check up!

ADVICE WANTED:

Hayden is finally starting to notice toys and other objects that capture his attention. It's glorious! It gives me at least a 2 min break from making ridiculous noises and faces and singing the ABC's, Old MacDonald, and other misc. kid’s songs. But 2 minutes goes by fast and Hayden demands my attention, like shaking rattles or pretend keys right in front of his face. So I was thinking about getting an activity mat or a saucer or walker or something. I was just going to go with an activity mat by Baby Einstein, but it will only be a little while til he’s sitting up and crawling. So I doubt he will just want to sit and look up at the hanging toys when he can be on the move! But is it worth my sanity till then? Or would it be better to get a walker or saucer or something like that? Opinions? Advice? I'm open to any suggestions. I have got to get something he will like to play independently with. It’s been a struggle even eating in a day, let alone getting ready or showering (we won't even go into shaving my legs. Even if I do have time to shower, there is definitely no time to shave. And if I were to hurry I'd for sure cut myself. Sorry if you’re all totally grossed out now). So I have got to find something! Let me know what all you fabulous women think out there! I need help! I am so indecisive.

Happy Conference Weekend!

Autism Fact:
April is
autism awareness month bringing attention to the fastest growing disability in the United States affecting one in 150 children. In Utah it affects one in 133 children. The rate is approximately 20 times higher than the rate researchers found in Utah in the mid 1980's. Autism is more prevalent among boys. While the general population stats are 1/150 the rate is much higher for boys. For boys it is 1 in every 94.
